In Pack 101, clear communication is the foundation of our flexible, "no-dues" program. To stay organized without overwhelming your inbox, we use a "Triple Threat" approach to keep every family informed.
Band: The Community Hub
Purpose: This is our primary tool for day-to-day chat, photo sharing, and last-minute updates (such as weather delays).
Key Action: This is the platform used to RSVP for meetings and events.
Scoutbook+: The Official Record
Purpose: This is the "Source of Truth" for our master calendar, official advancement logging, and individual Scout Accounts and payment logs.
Key Action: Use this to verify that your Scout's progress is being recorded correctly.
cubpack101.com: The Living Handbook
Purpose: Our public-facing home for general info, recruitment, "How-To" guides, and all official Pack policies.
Key Action: Use this as your first resource for general "How-To" questions and policy lookups.
To protect our Scouts and adhere to Safeguarding Youth Training standards, we maintain a strict "Public vs. Private" data split:
Public (Website): General program info and fundraising announcements (such as our community BBQ sales).
Private (Band/Scoutbook): Specific meeting locations, times, roster contact info, and photos of Scouts are never posted on the public website. Access to these details is restricted to registered families.
Join the Band: All families are expected to join the Pack 101 Band and enable notifications to stay informed on Pack activities.
Verify Information: Parents are responsible for reviewing Scoutbook to ensure advancements are current and to monitor their Scout Account balance.
Leader Commitment: Because our program is "Drop-In Ready," leaders strive to have all event details updated in Band at least one week in advance.
Open Door Policy: The Key 3 (Committee Chair, Cubmaster, and COR) are available via the Band messaging feature for private concerns.
Social Media: While we use public social media for community outreach, it is not an official channel for scheduling or Pack business.
